Influence of Sacoglottis gabonensis Ethanolic Extract on the Electrolytes of Swiss Mice Administered Aspartame

Aim: This study aimed at evaluating the influence of Sacoglottis gabonensis ethanolic extract on electrolytes swiss mice administered aspartame.
 Location and Duration Study: The was carried out in green house Department Animal Environmental Biology, Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Coordinates 4o48’14”N 6o59’12”E). experiment lasted for Ninety days.
 Experimental Design: A completely randomized experimental design employing relevant statistical tools analysis interpretation.
 Methodology: were assigned to six groups (A-F) fifteen each. Group negative control so they not given any treatment, but pellet clean tap water. B positive received 50mg/kg/bw/day aspartame alone. C 250mg/kg/bw/day leaf. D S. bark. E a combination bark leaf extract. F 500mg/kg/bw/day All exposed their treatment by oral gavage 30, 60 90days. Feed withdrawn from animals 24hours before termination experiment. Analysis serum concentrations followed approved standard procedures.
